It seem that no sooner is one event finished than preparation starts for another!
To try and keep costs to a minimum, Ricky Tagg is arranging the shipping for those wanting to go to Belmont. If you are planning on going, or thinking about it, please contact him so that he can include you in the [...]

Wonderfully crafted by The Boatyard at Beer – a beautiful peace of British Engineering. Well done Adam for making it happen!
Below is the notice for the EGM to be held at the Europeans. It is the UK’s rep intention to vote in favour of the proposals, but we would like to know if anyone has any objections. If there is major objection our vote could be changed. Please post objections on the UK Moth Yahoo [...]
We are just over two weeks away from the European Championships and it seems more like a World Championships with nearly 80 boats registered.
It also seems like a record for team GB with 17 boats making an appearance. This promises to be the biggest International Moth Europeans to date with pretty much all of the [...]

A mill pond like Torbay greeted the fleet for the final day of the 2010 UK Moth nationals. The prospect of a dying breeze however did not deter race officer Bob Penfold and his team from setting a course in the light southerly breeze. After a short postponement ashore [...]

What a great National championship we have just enjoyed hosted by Royal Torbay, friendly welcome ( except the from the Harbour officials) and great help with launching etc. I reckon it took less than 40 mins to launch 43 boats and escort them out of the entrance.
A big thanks to James [...]

Had plenty of breeze, 11 moths turned up, but not all raced – people being quite cautious with Nationals this week. Mike Lennon won with 5 wins out of 5, Jason Russell 2nd and Alex Adams 3rd. (In Alex’s words: Mike and Jif dominated!) We had glorious weather, unfortunately a [...]

The WHY Jewellers Parkstone YC Moth Open was preceded by a forecast of marginal foiling conditions, yet 25 moths turned out for the event at Poole over the weekend of 12/13th June.
As the fleet got to the racing area they realized how misleading forecasts can be; a gusty northerly force 4 greeted them for the [...]
Pro-Vela Moth Fest end of week round up.
Due to weekends lack of office workers we have 3 days to catch up on. Friday saw the fleet go for the downwind bar slalom. With a shorter course set up due to the fresh to fruity breeze the Mothies packed their spending money in their socks [...]
Foil Fest at Pro Vela Spain
Reviewed by Simon Propper
Inevitably the Moth blogosphere this week has been buzzing with trivia about what middle aged men got up to on the Costa del Crime. Really you’d be better off renting ‘Sexy Beast’ with Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley. None of that here: just compelling reasons why, if [...]
Queen Mary hosted the International Moth Inland Championships on 8th and 9th May. 21 boats attended from all over the country, despite a very light forecast and a number of people packing boats into crates to send them to the European Foil Fest in Spain.
Fortunately the breeze defied all forecasts and the fleet were greeted [...]
The first International Moth open of 2010 took place on Saturday at Bristol Corinthian yacht club. With a dire forecast for no wind and a few boats still astray after the recent Worlds in Dubai, 10 of the most persistent Mothies took to the skies in a very patchy marginal foiling breeze including three attending [...]
[ April 10, 2010 to April 11, 2010. ]
The first open of the season is this coming weekend at Bristol Corinthian YC. The event is set to be a 3 race series run on the Saturday 10th April starting at 11.30.
Now, I had planned on running a spectator friendly slalom event on the Sunday fitting around the club racing so as not to [...]
16 Foiling Moths descended onto Queen Mary SC for an impromptu weekend of coaching and practice in anticipation of the coming season.
Saturday saw seasoned veteran Mothies Alex Adams, Doug Pybus and Mike Cooke on hand to help out newcomers and regular Mothies alike on all points of their sailing whether it be just foiling along, [...]

A. That’s my second Moth World title but the first one back in 06 will always be the [...]
