Highest speed: 21.3 knots(but forgot to take photo, too knackered) at Parkstone Open.

Profile: I have spent the last 2 years designing and building my ‘Spitfire’ moth which is the first of three that have been built. I have got some Ninja foils. Slowly tweaking it to make it more manageable. My moth is proving to be a lot faster and wetter than the RS200, which I sail with my wife.

Profile: Having spent the winter building Ninjario in the garage, his sailing skills were out the window for the UK nationals! However, now the boat is built, it’s all about time on the water for him so hopefully the results will start to show next year.

Previous sailing included Cadets, Lasers (best result 7th at the youth nationals and winner of the “rope trophy” at Queen Marys back in 1987), 420s, Fireflys and 470s. Then took up windsurfing and competed on the BWA for a few years before getting in to kitesurfing in the pioneering days when there was just two of them at worthing.

About the moth class: “This boat has given me a new lease of aquatic life. Just when I was getting bored of kiting.. and the people are brilliant… no chavs in this neck of the woods..”

Club: Oxford SC

Boat Sailed: Ninja-Mistress 1 Conversion “Daedalus”  GBR 3080

Results: Youth National Match Racing Champion ‘08, Equal point score with Si Payne in Saundersfoot ’09!!

Profile: Student studying Medicine at Newcastle. Nights out need to be replaced with more time on the water. Loves sailing these boats in any conditions until something falls off. Never cares too much about results – this class is all about having a good time!

Current boat: Prowler zero (probably) – Aircooled

Previous boat: Prowler – Flying Lime

Best Result: 3rd 2008 Nationals

Profile: The most on and off moth sailor of recent years, followed up the third in Weymouth by only finishing 1 race in Saundersfoot. About to hit the water again in a way that only a PhD student in the process of writing up can. An 8 month absence due to work has meant no sailing since my 1 race in Saundersfoot.

Profile:  Just coming to the end of rookie year in the moth.  Recently upgraded to a Mach 2 and is hoping to improve on results in the US at the upcoming worlds in Dubai.  A relative ’fatboy’ in the Moth class at 80kgs….

Profile: Brought a low rider when I went to uni with the great excuse it was needed for my degree. Always planned to convert it but after a little persuasion traded Tigger in for a better model, and haven’t stopped smiling since.

Enjoys bimbling but prefers baking.

Club: WPNSA, Weymouth

Boat: Carbon Footprint, converted from a low rider last year (with a bit of magic from Adam May). She is now a fully fledged foiler, member of the 20kt club, oh and she’s pink.

Home break: Not so much a break more the lovely ‘flat water playpen’ of Weymouth Harbour.

Profile: Well practised at bimbling, often late for starts even when people tell him it’s several hours earlier than it actually is! However 2009 showed a turnaround, being one of the few to complete every race at the Nationals and start on time! Sad times at present with no boat to play with, so expect to see him drinking even more tea than usual at events.

Profile: Ex 18 foot skiff sailor who has been sailing Moths at Hayling Island for 2 years. The worlds in Dubai will be my first major Moth event, a young family has limited any travelling to events in the last couple of years. The only 2 opens I have competed in were at HISC and I came 6th at both, so I’m hoping to keep that trend going in Dubai!
